Creative Music Consultant Creative music consultant Jeffrey Pollack brings a wealth of experience to the music-driven new series Fame L.A., having worked on feature films, television shows, and major live stage events around the globe. Pollack's feature film credits as a music consultant include: ROBIN HOOD: PRINCE OF THIEVES (advisor to Michael Kamen and Bryan Adams on its Oscar-nominated song), MO' MONEY, GROUNDHOG DAY, MY GIRL II, I'LL DO ANYTHING, THREESOME, IT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU, TO DIE FOR, BAD BOYS, THE NET, THE CRAFT, MULTIPLICITY, MOLL FLANDERS, FIRST WIVES CLUB, DEAR GOD and INVENTING THE ABBOTTS. Pollack runs one of the largest music and programming consultant firms in the world with clients that reach hundreds of millions of listeners/viewers per week. His clients include over 100 radio stations/networks worldwide from Sydney to Moscow to Johannesburg, including MTV (U.S.), MTV Europe and MTV Latino. Other clients include Paramount Pictures. Pollack has been a key figure in the international radio industry, helping to launch stations in Moscow, Prague, Istanbul, and advising in China's first syndicated radio venture. Other Pollack career highlights and credits include his work as a music correspondent for Good Morning America; executive music consultant on Pavarotti's televised concert event for Bosnian war victims featuring U2, The Cranberries and others; executive producer of Quincy Jones' Lincoln Memorial pre-inauguration event, "Call to Reunion," on HBO; co-executive producer of Billboard Music Awards for two years; and co-chairman of Rock the Vote. In addition to his career achievements, Pollack was named Billboard's Rock Consultant of the Year in 1995. Executive Music Producer As executive music producer for the series Fame L.A., Robbie is responsible for the sound that audiences hear when they tune in to the new music-driven series. To accomplish that, Robbie counts on his extensive experience and impressive credits as a producer, arranger and keyboardist. Raised in Vancouver B.C., Buchanan launched his professional musical career at age 12, when he played honky-tonk piano for live stage shows at the annual Klondike Gold Rush Festival in Dawson City, Yukon Territories. He began studying piano at age 5, and, at age 24, moved to Los Angeles to play keyboards as a studio musician as well as produce and write. Since then, Buchanan has produced and/or arranged songs for numerous recording artists and feature films, including most recently the song "Footprints in the Sand" on George Benson's album "That's Right," which he co-produced and arranged and on which he played keyboards; the POCAHONTAS movie theme "Color Of The Wind," sung by Vanessa Williams, which he co-arranged and performed; another POCAHONTAS song "If I Never Knew You," sung by Jon Secada and Shanice, which he co-produced, arranged and performed; the songs "Hey There," "They Say It's Wonderful," and "Anything You Can Do," which he produced for Bonnie Raitt and John Raitt for "John Raitt's Greatest Hits;" the THUMBELINA movie theme "Let Me Be Your Wings," sung by Barry Manilow, which he produced, arranged and performed; and THE SWAN PRINCESS movie theme "Far Longer Than Forever," sung by Regina Belle and Jeffrey Osborne, which he produced, arranged and performed. As an arranger and keyboardist, Buchanan has arranged and/or performed with many of the world's most popular and enduring recording stars. Most recently Buchanan played keyboards on recording artist Jewel's recent number one single, "Who Will Save Your Soul," as well as her upcoming single, "Foolish Games," for the new movie BATMAN AND ROBIN. He recently played keyboards for Barbra Streisand and Bryan Adams for the film THE MIRROR HAS TWO FACES; arranged and played keyboards for the song "For the First Time," sung by Kenny Loggins for the film ONE FINE DAY; and played keyboards on all songs of Michael Crawford's "Christmas Album" on Atlantic. He has worked extensively with Bette Midler, arranging and playing keyboards on her various hits songs, including "From a Distance," "Wind Beneath My Wings," and "In My Life" (FOR THE BOYS); and Whitney Houston, for whom he has played and arranged on numerous songs. Other recording stars for whom he has arranged and/or played keyboards include Natalie Cole, Diana Ross, David Bowie, Phil Collins, Al Jarreau, Chaka Khan and Celine Dion & Peabo Bryson. |
