![]() | Choreographer "Premiere Episode" Marguerite Pomerhn Derricks is among the top choreographers working in the entertainment industry today. Her remarkable choreography has enhanced literally hundreds of film and television programs, commercials, music videos, and stage productions. She choreographed Warner Brothers' BATMAN & ROBIN (with George Clooney, Chris O'Donnell, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Uma Thurman) and AUSTIN POWERS starring Mike Meyers. In 1996 she choreographed Castle Rock's feature film STRIPTEASE, including training Demi Moore for all the dance sequences. Marguerite began her dance training in Buffalo, New York at the age of five. At age 16 she received a dance scholarship to study with the New York City Ballet and later went on to dance with the National Ballet of Canada and the Philadelphia Ballet.In 1983, she came to Los Angeles as a lead dancer on the popular television series "Fame" (having been chosen to choreograph the new series FAME L.A. really brings her career full circle). Soon afterward, she went on to become assistant choreographer to Debbie Allen and Otis Sallid. Her most significant career break came with the eruption of music videos. Just a few of the artists with whom she has worked include Quincy Jones, Celine Dion, Joey Lawrence, Taylor Dane, Little Richard, Tone Loc, Donna Summer, Barry White, Sheila E., and Deborah Harry. Marguerite's choreography has graced such television shows as "Melrose Place," "Circus of the Stars," "Showtime at the Apollo," "Dick Clark's New Years Rockin' Eve," "Soul Train," "General Hospital" and "Santa Barbara." Her other feature film credits include Ivan Reitman's JUNIOR, SEPARATE LIVES, ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS and Paul VerhoevenĂs SHOWGIRLS. Choreographer One of the top choreographers working in film and television, Peggy Holmes first launched her career as dancer working in film and television. She is a native of San Jose, CA, where she studied dance at the Atlas School of Dance from age of 8 to 18. Her extensive list of film credits include Michelle Pfeiffer's now-classic scenes as a sexy lounge singer in "THE FABULOUS BAKER BOYS." Since then, she has created choreography for WAYNE'S WORLD, FATHER OF THE BRIDE II, I LOVE TROUBLE, and A VERY BRADY SEQUEL. She worked closely with FAME L.A. director Kenny Ortega on "Newsies" and "Hocus Pocus." In addition to FAME L.A., her television credits include "Something Wilder;" "Gypsy" starring Bette Midler, "George Burns 95th Birthday;" "Hull High;" "Grand;" and "The Tracey Ullman Show." Peggy has created choreography on music videos for such performers as Michael Bolton, Stephanie Mills, and Carlene Carter. She served as assistant director for Paula Abdul's MTV tour. |
