Starring in a Broadway musical was always the goal for Lesli Margherita, who plays the role of aspiring comic Liz Clark in the series FAME L.A. "I never thought about becoming a comic, but I've always turned to comedy when dealing with situations in my life," says Lesli. "In that way, I'm very similar to my character Liz." The Northern California-born actress, singer and dancer started dancing at age four and turned professional at age 10, performing in regional musical theatre productions throughout her school years.

Lesli came to Los Angeles and majored in pre-law at UCLA "to make my parents happy." Throughout college she worked for Disney, performing around the world in live shows as a singer and dancer. She also toured nationally and internationally with a production of "A Chorus Line." Though dreaming about a Broadway role, she never made it to New York, because, in her words, "I was too busy!" The Disney stage work led to Disney television work, where she performed in industrials and "caught the acting bug."

After UCLA, Lesli landed an agent and began pursuing television and film acting roles in earnest. "Just to land an agent when you're starting out is an amazing feat in this town," she says. On television, Lesli has had principal roles in two CBS specials, "Everything's Coming Up Roses" and "Toon Town Spin Around." She has also starred in the independent film, NOTHING SHOCKING.

"FAME L.A. is a huge break for me," says Lesli. "But I still want to star on Broadway."
