Where's Brent? His younger brother Ryan (CHRISTIAN KANE) doesn't have time to enjoy the sights and sounds of Venice Beach, he's too busy trying to find and understand his older brother, who's turned into a heroin addict and left behind a promising career start. Brent's such a talented singer and actor, how could he be falling so hard?
With the big dance audition at hand, Lili (ROSELYN SANCHEZ) thinks she's giving her all, but she doesn't make the cut. It takes a heart-to-heart with the mysterious tapper Jeffrey, who advises Lili to "feel" it from the heart; that's what will make the difference. Lili knows she can do better and begs her friend Robert (CARLTON WILBORN) to get her another audition.
With Who's Who under constant financial strain, club manager Marcus Carilli (ANDY MILDER) schemes to bring David face to face with his ex-girlfriend Julie (DIANE DELASCIO), who is making it big as a Broadway star. Marcus knows Julie will agree to invest in the club, but getting David (WILLIAM R. MOSES) to allow his ex to become a partner might put Marcus' job on the line. Sure enough, when David discovers the plot, he fires Marcus.
While T.J. Barron's group (played by AZ YET) records "She's the Kind of Girl" at Legacy studios, rock star Owen Black drops by. Black (JOSEPH RYE) is slowly getting closer to Suzanne (HEIDI NOELLE LENHART) as he offers to collaborate with her and make her song "Fearless Heart" a commercial hit.
Homeless and roaming the streets, Brent sings "My Place in the World," an emotional call for help. But we have only seen the tip of the iceberg of Brent's troubled heart. Later at Who's Who, Brent breaks down onstage, pulls a gun and threatens to kill himself in front of his friends. Emergency crews arrive and take him away while Ryan has to be restrained.
