Lili (ROSELYN SANCHEZ) and Robert's (CARLTON WILBORN) relationship begins to suffer because of their busy schedules. But something else is brewing. Lili is developing a crush on her dance partner Patrick (JASON YRIBAR), and It doesn't help that Liz (LESLIE MARGHERITA) has entered a dance choreography competition with a ten-thousand dollar grand prize and cast Lili and Patrick as lovers.
T.J. (T.E. RUSSELL) invites Suzanne (HEIDI NOELLE LENHART) to check out a singer at a small club as a favor to his mother. To their surprise, the singer, Ellie Nickens (DEBELAH), turns out to be truly gifted. T.J. wants to manage her, and Suzanne can't help but be a little jealous. T.J. gets her Ellie's demo tape and plays it at work for Barry Hanson, a producer friend of his, who is quite impressed.
Liz asks Suzanne if she can use one of her songs for the dance scene and T.J. suggests having Ellie sing it. He brings Ellie in to the recording studio where she meets Barry. The next day, Ellie returns to the recording studio -- this time to meet with Barry, who wants to sign her to a contract. Feeling used, T.J. talks to Suzanne, who says he should stand up for himself, but T.J.'s afraid of damaging his career.
Knowing he's the only one in the industry she can trust, Ellie asks T.J. for his advice about signing a contract with Barry. She doesn't want to be unfair to T.J., since he discovered her. T.J. confronts Barry, and puts his credibility on the line to do what's right for Ellie.
Lili has a passionate dream about Robert and Patrick. Later, a jealous Robert finds them rehearsing and tells Lili he's leaving for a business trip. Lili had tickets to a Planetarium show for them, but invites Patrick instead. One thing leads to another on their date and when Robert calls the next morning, Patrick is asleep next to her.
Liz wins the dance competition and the gang celebrates at Who's Who. After seeing the scene, Robert confronts Lili about Patrick. Lili tells Robert everything and breaks it off with him. While waiting for Patrick, she sees him kiss another woman. Heartbroken, the only thing she can do is put on a happy face when she joins her friends.
